Committee hosted 13 service projects this fall

This fall, the Done in a Day (DIAD) Committee planned 13 events that helped our community by serving meals, collecting food, planting trees, and helping at community events.

One of DIAD’s biggest accomplishments was the fall service weekend held in October. Throughout the weekend, DIAD offered numerous volunteer opportunities with several of the League’s longstanding community partners, including Face to Face, Cathedral Kitchen, Riverbend Environmental Center, and the Jewish Relief Agency. In this one weekend, JLP members prepared meals, delivered food to families in need, and helped one of our partners prepare for their largest fundraiser. The DIAD Committee wishes to thank everyone who volunteered and made the weekend possible.

During the holiday season, DIAD was also proud to help families in need by hosting a food drive with the Garden of Health, working a hot chocolate bar during the Community Center at Visitation’s Polar Express Toy Drive, and packing boxes of food with the Jewish Relief Agency.

In the New Year, the DIAD Committee is looking forward to planning more events with our community partners, establishing new relationships with organizations, and offering more opportunities for members to volunteer in the community.
